The Government is introducing a new cost recovery model for environmental regulation, including fees for clearing permit applciations to speed up approvals, grow the economy and create jobs.

The improved fee model reflects a partial cost-recovery approach and will commence on 1 July 2019.

Additional revenue will be directed at employing additional staff, in both clearing regulation and compliance areas, as well as investing in systems to improve the timeliness of decision-making on environmental approvals.

More information about the new fees is available in the Clearing fees FAQs.

Please refer to the State Law Publisher's website for copies of the relevant legislation at www.slp.wa.gov.au
