The Department of Water and Environment Regulation is reviewing the Environmental Protection (Controlled Waste) Regulations 2004 to recognise changes in technology in the production and treatment of controlled wastes and incorporate new knowledge about the risks of particular wastes.

The discussion paper seeks feedback from stakeholders on how the Government can ensure the management of controlled waste in Western Australia is risk-based, streamlined and effective.

Stakeholder feedback will inform the development of options for reform which will be the subject of further consultation.
