The National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure (AAQ NEPM) provides a nationally consistent framework for jurisdictions to monitor and report ambient air quality through setting reporting standards for key air pollutants.

The National Environment Protection Council (NEPC) has signalled its intention to vary the AAQ NEPM standards for ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide to reflect current scientific understanding on health risks arising from these pollutants.

The NEPC has released an Impact Statement recommending proposed changes to the standards and the health and economic impacts of these.

You are invited to have your say on the proposed standards.

EPA Victoria is leading the national consultation on behalf of the NEPC.

Submissions made during the consultation process will be carefully considered and will help shape a final recommendation for varying the AAQ NEPM.

There will be public forums and a webinar to support people providing submissions.

You can find the Impact Statement, supporting documents, details of forums and webinars and a link to upload written submissions on the NEPC website.
